Every Cricket Match Is Like A Film, Each Has A Director.

Due to the Corona and Lockdown, many news get sidelined. Today we are going to discuss about one such topic. A few days back, Delhi Crime Branch filed a supplementary charge sheet. Also the Delhi Police submitted a statement of Sanjeev Chawla with the charge sheet stating, “None of the Cricket Match is genuinely played. Every match is like a film which is directed by different directors”.

After hearing this statement, each and every cricket fan will be disheartened.

Sanjeev Chawla was Indian resident of New Delhi who settled in London in 1993 and got U.K citizenship in 2000. On further inquiring, He stated that he cannot share much information as match fixing includes involvement of underworld Dons and syndicate (a group of big companies dominating a particular country). And if he will give any information, his life would be at risk. Also the investigating officer’s life is at a risk.

The supplementary charge sheet includes matches in the year 2000. These matches were played between India and South Africa. The investigation which was conducted by South African government proved that former South African captain Hansie Cronje was found guilty of fixing matches. He also stated that he was awarded fine sum of money for his support in match fixing. The Delhi Police included telephone conversation between Sanjeev Chawla and Hansie Cronje in the supplementary charge sheet.

After trying for 20 odd years, Sanjeev Chawla was successfully brought to India this year in February. Delhi court granted him bail after 76 days of custody. The bail was granted on a personal bond of Rs. 2 lakh with two sureties.

This is a big news for India as cricket is considered as a religion here. We dont want Bollywood cricket. The media should not ignore important issues. As Corona is not the only important thing.
