We have a history with China of fighting wars regarding border disputes. The disputes resulted in Three Military Conflicts.
1) The Sino – Indian war of 1962,
2) The Chola Incident in 1967 and
3) 1987 Sino Indian Skirmish ( a minor battle).
Trade Relations :
After fighting for Three wars with China, India increased trade with China after 1990. The main aim of both the countries was to increase trade instead of increasing envy. Chinese Imports from India amounted to $16.4 Billion in 2014. The Chinese Exports to India amounted to $58.4 Billion in 2014. The China exports increased to $89.6 Billion in 2017, which made China, India’s biggest trading partner.
The basic theory of manufacturing products in China is to manufacture products 2 to 3 times more of the actual demand . They get raw material at far less price which directly increases their profit as finished products. They introduce these products in their own country and after a month they introduce in different countries. And then they dump the product in name of new technology. They introduce their product at a cheaper rate in comparison to local product of that particular region. The quality of their products is good which gives customer a perfect reason to buy it.
Trade with China not only gives a step back but also reduces the rate of growing economy. And makes us fully dependant on China. By doing such we are giving employment to people of China and taking employment from our country’s citizens. The Atmanirbhar campaign stops us from doing so. And it will help us to grow our economy after covid pandemic.
China wants to be a superpower in the coming future. In this race China can’t afford a competition with India. It is inadmissible to them when India is developing at a faster rate. For instance, Indian Army is developing infrastructure near Ladakh border to get edge over China’s actions there. I assume that same problem occurred with Nepal as they included India’s territory in their official map.
We must become the change we wish to see in the world ~ Mahatma Gandhi.
